|
|
| Guys my family has recently purchased an apartment in Marina. I was wondering if it's true that residents get UAE residence visa (after paying a fee) on possession of the apartment. Is there anyone here who has moved into their apartment in Marina and received the visa? Thanks! |

| User Seabea has moved into his apartment in the Belvedere and posted his experience getting the visa and other documents in the public Belvedere forum. |

| It will be interesting to hear experiences from other applicants, with respect to obtaining a residents visa's in Dubai, it did sound like Seabee's application went quite smoothe back in October 05. |

I have seen companies advertising in Gulf News that take the hassle out of the process by doing a medical test in their own clinic and then delivering your visa stamped in your passport within 48 hours.
dunno what they charge though and looking at SeaBee's experience, it might not be neccesary. |

The only real hassle was the queuing at Immigration. That and finding out in advance what was actually required!
If you go to Jebel Ali clinic the medical is very quick and easy. The other places have big queues.
Emaar can only sponsor one person and you have no option except to go through them for that visa. But they wanted another Dh5,000 to do my wife's visa even though I have to be her sponsor, so I thought I'd put up with the hassles at Immigration to save that fee.
Also, the Dh10,000 deposit you have to pay Immigration for wife's visa applies regardless of who does the visa application for you. _________________ Life's too short to drink bad coffee |

So you can sponsor a family member. Could I sponsor my Dad? I have two properties but both are in my name (because they are mine) but my dad is so Dubai mnided these days that I would like to see if I can sponsor him too. |

Mmmm...I think you can but I'm not 100% sure. It's a bit vague with the freehold property Residence Visa because it's all so new. They're really only used to dealing with the usual employer sponsor visas. Different guys at Immigration were telling me different things each time I went, when I argued they got in a huddle and sorted it out amongst themselves.
If your Master Developer is Emaar, their visa section should be able to tell you. The very helpful lady I dealt with was Juliana Rego and her e-mail is jrego@emaar.ae
Don't tell her you may do it yourself, let her think you'll pay Emaar the Dh5,000 they charge to do it for you _________________ Life's too short to drink bad coffee |
